This Autumn/Winter 2013-14, bridge the seasons with Vivienne Westwood's Sea Monster Halton Dress. Beautifully crafted in vivid cotton, this elegant piece folds at the neckline to taper at the waist, then indulged in fabric, this piece elegantly folds and falls from the waist. Inspired by the city it originated from, Anglomania Autumn/Winter 2013-14 uses historical iconography and prints from London's great past and pieces together influences from Vivienne's beginnings in the Punk era. From a portrait dating back to 1592, the Sea Monster print is lifted from a gown belonging to Queen Elizabeth 1st. With the print hinting at lands explored far away for the greater good of the English Empire, Vivienne combines the Bruce of Kineard tartan overlaid with hearts, stars and the letters AR, symbolizing her stance "Active Resistance to Propaganda". Bringing the design to the forefront of her collection, the Tartan Sea Monster is carried through to Vivienne's accessories for Autumn/Winter 13-14.
